A fire that erupted Friday in a Menifee home left an occupant burned and caused significant damage, displacing the seven residents.

The blaze was reported at 11:36 a.m. in the 23600 block of Goetz Drive, near Mountain View Place, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered smoke rising from the rear of the single-story house, according to the agency.

One of the occupants was outside of the home with burn injuries that officials described as moderate.

Firefighters quickly deployed to the back of the home and fully contained the blaze within 20 minutes.

No adjacent properties were impacted.

The burn victim was taken to a regional trauma center for treatment.

Damage to the home was extensive, displacing the three adults and four children residing there. Red Cross personnel were requested to assist them with finding temporary alternate lodgings.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
