A brush fire in Lake Elsinore Saturday posed a structure threat but was stopped without damaging buildings.

The fire was reported at 1 1/2 acres at 4:40 p.m. Saturday at Mission Trail Road and Vine Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The first arriving firefighters said it was burning at a moderate rate of spread with a structure threat, fire officials said.

By 9 p.m., fire officials reported that the fire was stopped and that firefighters would remain at the scene to finish clearing lines of vegetation around the fire and put out hotspots.
