A 40-year-old Hemet woman who vanished two years ago was likely the victim of foul play, authorities said Tuesday, asking anyone with information to come forward.

Danielle Rosalie Rico was last seen Aug. 14, 2022, in Valle Vista. Her loved ones reported her missing in September of that year when efforts to track her down failed, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The missing person investigation turned to a possible death investigation after detectives “determined Rico’s disappearance to be suspicious in nature,” sheriff’s Sgt. Jarred Bishop said, without elaborating.

Central Homicide Unit personnel are asking anyone who might be able to assist in resolving the case to contact them.

“The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are still unknown and suspicious,” Bishop said.

Rico is 5 feet, 2 inches tall, 140 pounds, with brown eyes and hair.

Additional details on her physical attributes and the investigation in general can be found at oag.ca.gov/missing/person/danielle-rosalie-rico.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Central Homicide Unit at 951-955-2195.
