A 44-year-old Seal Beach man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of assaulting police officers and barricading himself in a car repair shop.

Jordan Molina was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, police said.

Police responded to a call of a suspect “banging on cars and climbing trees” just before 8:50 a.m. in the 300 block of Seventh Street, according to the Seal Beach Police Department.

When officers arrived the suspect was seen kicking a car, and when they tried to detain him they got into a tussle with the suspect, police said. When other officers arrived to assist, the suspect allegedly assaulted two officers and ran away, police said.

The suspect barricaded himself in a utility room at a nearby car repair business, and was arrested about an hour later without incident, police said.

The officers suffered minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital to be treated, police said.
