Officers were able to capture an alleged armed man who attempted to flee from them during a short foot chase Sunday in Long Beach, authorities said.
Officers dispatched about 12:45 a.m. to the 1800 block of Arlington Street regarding “a person with a gun” call, contacted the suspect described by the calling party, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
“However, he attempted to flee from officers on foot,” according to a police statement. “After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect surrendered, and he was subsequently arrested and transported to Long Beach City Jail for booking.”
During their investigation, officers allegedly recovered a small handgun and determined the suspect was a prohibited possessor. The investigation was on going.
