A 53-year-old man was fatally stabbed Tuesday — allegedly by his roommate — in Irvine.
Police were dispatched at 6:21 a.m. to a single-family home at 55 Fortuna East, according to Irvine police Sgt. Karie Davies.
Zackery Dean Hinkle, 22, who lived in the residence, told officers he got into a fight with his roommate when the stabbing happened, police said.
The victim was identified as 53-year-old Terry Rahmatulla, police said.
The two had been embroiled in an ongoing dispute over the last few days, police said. The nature of the dispute was unclear.
Hinkle was booked on suspicion of murder, police said.
