Santa Ana police Tuesday were investigating reports of an active shooter at a middle school, but have not found any evidence to confirm them.

Police were called just after 2 p.m. to McFadden Institute of Technology at 2701 S. Raitt St., Santa Ana police Officer Natalie Garcia said.

As of 3:15 p.m., police on campus have not found any evidence of a shooter, but the school was on lockdown, Garcia said.

Los Angeles police reported there were social media threats to schools circulating locally and throughout the county with Burbank police also reporting a social media threat to a school.
