A man was found dead in a French Valley parking lot approximately 90 minutes after his release from a detention center following an arrest on suspicion of DUI.
Southwest Sheriff’s Station deputies arrived at the 30000 block of Auld Road at 9:53 a.m. Saturday in the unincorporated community of French Valley after receiving a report of an unresponsive man, later identified as 46-year-old Lawrence Orso of Murrieta, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department statement released the following day.
After locating Orso, deputies and paramedics unsuccessfully attempted live-saving measures. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Inmate records show that Orso had been arrested overnight for allegedly drunk driving. A later investigation found that he had been released from the Cois Byrd Detention Center at 8:26 a.m., an hour and a half before authorities found him in the parking lot, according to the statement.
Deputies found “no evidence” of foul play, according to the statement.
Anyone with additional information was encouraged to contact investigator D. Robertson at 951-955-1777.
