A passenger allegedly made threatening remarks to a Metro driver Wednesday in the Westlake district.
Police were contacted and when officers arrived to the bus on First Street and Beverly Boulevard, no weapon was found and the operator declined to press charges, according to Metro.
“Metro’s front-line employees provide an essential service to Angelenos. We ask that everyone supports them and treats them with the respect they deserve,” said Metro spokesman Patrick Chandler in a statement to City News Service.
“Metro also recognizes that our operators are understandably on edge, and we encourage them to take advantage of the confidential support offered through our Employee Assistance Program.”
The suspect was later released.
The threat came the same day as a Metro bus was hijacked with a passenger fatally shot.
