A 64-year-old homeless man who was struck and killed while walking along Rosecrans Avenue in the Harbor Gateway area of Los Angeles was identified Tuesday.
The crash occurred at 9:29 p.m. Sunday at Rosecrans Avenue and Figueroa Street, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The victim was walking westbound on Rosecrans Avenue when he was struck by the westbound motorist, the officer said.
He was rushed by ambulance to a hospital where he died, the officer said.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified the man as Eduardo Espinoza Quintero.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police, he said.
