A fire that scorched about 25 acres of brush Wednesday in the Castaic area was 90% contained, authorities said.
The Lago Fire was reported early Wednesday near the Lake Hughes Road off-ramp from the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol, which reported that a section of Lake Hughes Road was closed in the area.
The fire was reported as 50% contained at 7:43 a.m.
Firefighters “will continue working towards building containment and mop up of extinguishing fire heat,” Wednesday night, according to a statement from the Angeles National Forest.
