A man suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound Sunday morning in Long Beach, authorities said.
The victim self-transported to a hospital with a wound to his lower body, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Officers were dispatched at about 1:15 a.m. to the hospital to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Police said the victim was in the area of Willow Street near the Long Beach (710) Freeway when he was approached by a man who allegedly struck him with his fist before firing a gunshot at him.
No other injuries were reported and the investigation was ongoing.
