Police sought the public’s assistance Wednesday in locating a hit-and-run suspect who fatally struck a 33-year-old man in North Hollywood.
The collision occurred Sept. 13 around 1:50 a.m. near the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Craner Avenue, where a dark-colored vehicle struck a man outside of a crosswalk and failed to stop, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Paramedics took the victim to a hospital, where he later died. The county Department of Medical Examiner withheld the man’s name pending notification of relatives.
A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered by the city for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect.
“Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” the police department said in a statement.
