A brush fire erupted Friday just west of Interstate 15 in Temescal Canyon, scorching two acres before crews reached the location, where no properties were immediately threatened.
The non-injury Miles Fire was reported at 12:45 p.m. Friday in the area of Miles Way and Glen Eden Road, less than a mile from the freeway, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency reported that multiple engine and hand crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a moderate rate along a hillside, south of a subdivision that’s part of the Alberhill community.
Three Cal Fire air tankers and two water-dropping helicopters were immediately summoned, and they initiated runs on the brusher at 1:10 p.m.
There was no immediate word regarding what might have triggered the brusher.
