Sheriff’s homicide detectives are investigating after three people died in a residential fire in a Temple City neighborhood Sunday

The fire was reported about 4:50 p.m. Sunday in the 6000 block of Sultana Avenue, just east of Rosemead Boulevard (SR-19), according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Fred Fielding. The fire was knocked down in half an hour.

Firefighters treated two additional patients and transported them to area hospitals in critical condition, Fielding said.

The fatalities were not immediately identified and the relationships of the victims was not yet known.

No other homes were affected, Fielding said.

Shortly before 8 p.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced that the deaths were being investigated as possible homicides.
