A male pedestrian was hospitalized with unknown injuries Saturday evening when he was struck by a Metro A Line train in the Historic South-Central area of Los Angeles.
The crash occurred about 8 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Maple Avenue, LA Metro spokesman Dave Sotero told City News Service.
Sotero referred to the pedestrian as a “trespasser.” His age was not available.
“Metro reminds everyone that rail safety is a shared responsibility and encourages the public to observe rail safety guidance, including maintaining a safe distance from rail cars at all times,” Sotero said.
The injured pedestrian was taken to a hospital by ambulance, he said.
Bus shuttles took passengers between the Grand and San Pedro stations during the investigation, according to a Metro post on X.
