A person was found dead Saturday on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in San Juan Capistrano.
The death was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 2:51 p.m. Saturday on the northbound 5 Freeway just south of Camino Capistrano.
Paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority pronounced the person dead at 3:05 p.m., the CHP reported.
It was unclear if the victim was a pedestrian, motorist or passenger in a vehicle.
Northbound traffic was diverted around the far right lane of the San Diego (405) Freeway for the investigation.
