Authorities Wednesday identified a man who was fatally shot near the Carmelitos neighborhood in Long Beach.
Long Beach Police Department officers were called to the 900 block of Via Carmelitos, west of the Carmelitos Community Garden, at 1:14 p.m. Tuesday regarding a shots-fired call.
Officers found the man with gunshot wounds, and they attempted to revive him, but he died at the scene, the department said.
On Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the man as Dwayne Walton, 32, of Los Angeles.
No suspect information was available.
