One man was shot to death and another was injured in Stanton, authorities said Saturday.
The shooting occurred about 4:20 p.m. Friday in the area of Orangewood Avenue and Court Street, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Arriving deputies found 18-year-old Stanton resident Jonathan Alexis Jimenez wounded inside a vehicle on Court, sheriff’s officials said. Paramedics took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A second man was also found injured inside the vehicle, sheriff’s officials said. He was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries related to the shooting.
“Several subjects” were detained at the scene Friday night during the investigation by the sheriff’s Homicide and Gang Enforcement Team, officials said. Their current status was not available. The investigation continued.
