The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was spreading holiday cheer in East Los Angeles, officials said Monday.
The department hosted a gift giveaway for families Friday at a boxing gym, Biscailuz Center Academy Training at 1060 N. Eastern Ave., according to the department.
“More than 300 people came together to celebrate the season and enjoy a day filled with joy and giving,” the department said. “Gifts were raffled off, and the kids had the opportunity to choose from a variety of presents. Best of all, nobody went home empty-handed!”
Sheriff Chief Jason Wolak, Commander Oscar Barragan and personnel from Youth Activity League Boxing Gym collaborated in making the event.
Food was catered by a local taco grill along with dessert.
The department thanked everyone who made the event possible and for spreading holiday cheer to the community.
