A man is in the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds after a shooting in Long Beach and the shooters Wednesday are on the loose.
Long Beach Police Department officers were called at 12:03 a.m. Tuesday to the 2600 block of 56th Way regarding a shooting. When they arrived at the scene, officers found the victim with gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body, the police department said.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene and took the victim to a hospital. According to police, the investigation shows the victim was in a physical altercation with several male adult suspects, which escalated when the victim was shot.
The victim’s condition was not immediately known.
The suspects left the scene prior to officers’ arrival. There was no suspect description and the motive for the shooting is under investigation.
