A 26-year-old man was shot and killed in a Sunland cul-de-sac, and one of the suspects later surrendered to police, authorities said Monday.

The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Denivelle Road, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police said the victim was walking on the street when two vehicles approached him. A man exited each vehicle and opened fire before both suspects fled the scene, according to police.

The victim, identified as Edvin Avagyan, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the county Office of Medical Examiner.

A 39-year-old suspect later turned himself, telling authorities that Avagyan was the boyfriend of his ex-wife, police said.
