A fire in a two-story center hall apartment building in Westlake was knocked down Sunday.
Flames and heavy smoke was reported emerging from the second floor and attic of the building in the 600 block of South Carondelet Street, near Seventh Street, around 6:35 p.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
More than six dozen firefighters extinguished the fire in less than 25 minutes, the LAFD stated. One building directly threatened by the flames was defended from damage.
Authorities reported no injuries, stating the building appeared to be unoccupied.
