Firefighters stopped the forward spread of a 15-acre vegetation fire in Blythe Wednesday.
The blaze was reported at around noon Wednesday in the 33300 block of Highway 95, according to a Riverside County Fire Department statement.
By 4:30 p.m., crews had halted the fire’s forward progress, with containment reaching 75%, the department said.
No structures were damaged, but traffic on Highway 95 was reduced to one lane for several hours.
Fire personnel remained at the scene for mop-up operations, which officials said would continue for an extended period.
