Firefighters are battling a 15-acre vegetation fire Wednesday evening in Mecca. Firefighters from the Riverside County Fire Department responded at 9:04 p.m. to Lincoln Avenue where crews are being hampered by strong winds, the fire department said. Additional equipment is en route to the scene and no evacuations or injuries were reported.
