Sheriff’s homicide detectives Tuesday were continuing to investigate the fatal shooting of a man in La Puente.
Deputies were called at 9:35 p.m. Monday to the 900 block of Fickewirth Avenue between Loukelton Street and Amar Road, where they found the victim, said homicide Lt. Michael Mordica of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The shooting was determined to be gang-related, sheriff’s officials said.
An earlier shooting Monday in the 500 block of Leverett Street in La Puente that left another man dead was not related to the Fickewirth Avenue shooting, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
