A man who allegedly forced his way into a Van Nuys home Wednesday and fled with a child in a possible custody dispute has been taken into custody, and the child has been located, police said.
Police were notified of an alleged home invasion and kidnapping at about 8:10 a.m. Wednesday in the 7600 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, a couple blocks north of Saticoy Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The man and victim, who was reported to be a 3-year-old boy, left the scene in an older-model, dark-colored Ford Explorer SUV, an LAPD officer told City News Service.
Police later said the man had been taken into custody as of 3:45 p.m. and the child was safely located.
No further information was immediately provided.
