A 32-year-old man was behind bars Wednesday on a charge of raping a roommate in Anaheim while awaiting trial on charges of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl in Santa Ana.
Gustavo Beltran Jr. was charged Tuesday with rape with a sentencing enhancement for committing an offense while out on bail in another case. He is accused of raping a 60-year-old woman he lived with in Anaheim on Oct. 1, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Matt Sutter.
Beltran did not enter a plea at his arraignment in the jail courtroom on Tuesday. He is scheduled to be arraigned April 3 in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
Beltran is also charged with seven felony counts of sexual assault of a girl in Santa Ana. Beltran is accused of assaulting the girl just after she turned 9 years old in October 2015, according to testimony from his preliminary hearing.
