Firefighters were able to extract a resident from a blaze at a two-story residence in unincorporated French Valley north of Temecula.
The first flames were reported at approximately 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 37500 block of Mojave Rose Court, according to a Riverside County Fire Department statement.
An arriving unit noted light smoke emanating from the single-family home, in which officials found the resident and removed the person to allow for treatment on “a separate medical emergency unrelated to the fire,” according to the statement.
Firefighters quenched the fire shortly after, containing it to a plastic object on the stove, the department said.
Paramedics performed an on-scene evaluation on the resident, who was then transported to a local medical facility for the unrelated condition.
