Police in Long Beach Monday were investigating the wounding of a man who took himself to a hospital with a non-life-threatening lower body gunshot injury.
Officers were called around 7 p.m. Sunday to a hospital to investigate a reported shooting in the area of Atlantic Avenue and Market Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
”Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body,” police said in a statement. ”The victim stated he was in the area of Atlantic Avenue and Market Street when he heard noises and observed he was injured. The man self-transported to the hospital. Officers canvassed the area described, but were unable to locate a crime scene.”
Suspect information was not immediately available and it was not immediately clear what might have led to the shooting.
