A man was fatally shot in downtown Long Beach Saturday, close to the area where the Grand Prix was taking place on Saturday.
The shooting was reported just before 6 p.m. Saturday near Cedar Walk, close to the shoreline, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Responding officers located a man suffering from gunshot wounds and transported him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
