A man wounded in a Long Beach shooting managed to get himself to a hospital for treatment, authorities said Friday.
The shooting occurred at about 11 p.m. Thursday in the area of Cedar Avenue and Ninth Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The man told officers he was walking in the area when he heard gunfire and realized he had been shot in the upper body, police said.
Long Beach paramedics treated him at the scene before he took himself to the hospital for further treatment.
An investigation into the suspect and motive was underway.
