A 55-year-old man was charged Tuesday with fatally shooting a neighbor in an apartment complex in Mission Viejo.
Sean Jeffrey Williams of Mission Viejo was charged with murder with a sentencing enhancement for discharge of a gun causing death.
Williams is accused of killing 39-year-old Miguel Joaquin Mata on Friday. Orange County sheriff’s deputies were called about the shooting at about 7:30 p.m. that day at an apartment complex on La Glorieta.
Williams, who lives in an apartment near the victim, was arrested Friday. What prompted the shooting was not immediately disclosed.
