A man walking on an off-ramp of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway near downtown Los Angeles was struck and killed by a construction van, the California Highway Patrol reported Saturday.
CHP officers responded at 12:30 a.m. Saturday to the westbound freeway and the San Pedro Street off-ramp where they learned the pedestrian was struck near the bottom of the freeway off-ramp by the van, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was no vehicle description.
