A 16-year-old girl was reported missing after being last seen Thursday in Gardena, prompting the issuance of an Ebony Alert.

Katarah Bryant was last seen near Western Avenue and Gardena Boulevard around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials activated the alert on behalf of the Gardena Police Department.

Bryant was described as a 5 feet, feet 7 inches tall. She weighs 135 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. It was unclear what she was last seen wearing.

Anyone with information regarding Byrant’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.

Ebony Alerts are issued to help find Black children, teenagers and young adults — 12 to 25 years old — who are reported missing under unexplained or suspicious circumstances or those who are at-risk, developmentally disabled, cognitively impaired or who have been abducted.
