A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway Wednesday in a possible hit-and-run collision in Pomona, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 3:37 a.m. Wednesday. California Highway Patrol officers responded to the westbound freeway at the White Avenue on-ramp, where they found the victim, CHP Officer Ramon Kendricks told City News Service.

A white vehicle reportedly struck the pedestrian and fled, continuing westbound on the freeway. The victim, whose name, age and gender were not immediately available, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash closed all lanes of the westbound freeway until 8 a.m. while the CHP investigated the circumstances surrounding the fatality.
