A man suffered major injuries Sunday after he apparently fell onto the Harbor (110) Freeway. and was struck by a vehicle in South Los Angeles.

The California Highway Patrol was notified at 5:38 p.m. Sunday that a man without shoes was down in lanes on the northbound Harbor Freeway under the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway.

Witnesses said the shoes were also in lanes and that the man seemed very disoriented.

Arriving CHP officers stopped traffic in all lanes while paramedics prepared the man for transport to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Officers reported that a person in a black BMW on the right shoulder that may have struck the pedestrian was uncooperative. They eventually broke windows to get into the vehicle and detain the driver. It was unclear if any arrests were made.
