A 37-year-old man was killed Sunday when he crashed his vehicle into a tree in Santa Ana.
The crash happened about 1:20 a.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of South Main Street, at Wilshire Avenue, according to a statement from the Santa Ana Police Department.
Francisco Estrada Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
“Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed the vehicle was traveling southbound on Main Street from McFadden Avenue at a high rate of speed when it collided with the tree,” police said. It was not immediately known if drugs or alcohol factored into the wreck.
