Seven people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision in Desert Hot Springs, police said Wednesday.

The crash was reported shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday in the 14500 block of Palm Drive. Officers at the scene said all individuals were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs to be treated for minor to serious injuries.

“Based on preliminary information, it appears that alcohol and speed may be factors in the collision,” according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.

The circumstances behind the crash was not immediately known, and the cause of the crash was under investigation. Anyone with additional information about the collision was urged to contact Investigator Greg Elias at gelias@dhspd.com.
