Firefighters contained a fire Sunday that caused minor injuries to a firefighter and burned several stacked pallets outside a storage space in the community of Glen Avon.
The blaze was reported shortly before 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 9000 block of Mission Boulevard, north of Jurupa Valley, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said a dozer and additional resources were sent to the location to battle the burning 15-foot high pallets that covered a 100-by-100-foot area, and threatened to expand into nearby vehicles.
Crews contained the fire at 7:12 a.m., and expected to remain at the scene for an additional three hours for salvage and overhaul.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
