A Riverside County District Attorney’s Office evidence technician was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexual battery, though the exact circumstances were not publicly disclosed.
Jaiquin Devon Moore, 52, was taken into custody Thursday morning at the D.A.’s headquarters on Orange Street in downtown Riverside. Moore was booked into the Robert Presley Jail, where he is being held on $25,000 bail.
“Our office is committed to transparency, accountability and, above all, the safety of our community,” agency Chief Investigator Natasha Crawford said. “We take every allegation of misconduct seriously and will continue to fully cooperate with the investigation. Holding all individuals accountable for violations of the law is essential to protecting our community and maintaining the public’s trust.”
The agency said that allegations of a sexual assault surfaced on Wednesday, triggering an immediate investigation that was turned over to the sheriff’s Special Victims’ Unit to ensure an unbiased probe, leading to the suspect’s arrest.
Details of what allegedly transpired, when and the individual making the allegations were not revealed.
There was also no confirmation regarding how long Moore has been employed by the D.A.’s office in his non-sworn capacity. He’s now on paid administrative leave pending further proceedings and the possibility of criminal charges.
Anyone with information was asked to contact the Special Victims’ Unit at 951-955-1698.
