A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday in a crash at a Cherry Valley intersection.

The fatality happened at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday on Cherry Valley Boulevard at Roberts Street, just north of Interstate 10, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Sgt. Roman Lugo said the rider, a man whose identity wasn’t immediately released, was going westbound on Cherry Valley at an undetermined speed when he apparently lost control and crashed in the intersection.

No other vehicles were involved.

California Highway Patrol officers and deputies both initially went to the location, along with paramedics, who pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The jurisdiction was ultimately confirmed to be under the sheriff’s control, and CHP officers turned the matter over to deputies, CHP spokesman Officer Ricardo Palomera told City News Service.

Lugo said the intersection was shut down until around 11 a.m. while a preliminary investigation was conducted and the wreckage cleared.

Anyone with information about the crash was asked to contact sheriff’s dispatch at 951-776-1099.

  1. Cars, trucks, and motorcycles are using Cherry Valley Blvd for a raceway just like they are doing all over the Cherry valley area main and side streets.
Stop signs are blown on an everyday basis and people are going at top speeds.
This is horrible on Cherry Valley Ave leading up to and back from Bogart Park.
Where are the law enforcement officers?????

  2. Hi I just wanna confirm with you as I am the family that this whole article is incorrect and you took a photo of another accident scene and paired it with the death of my loved one. This is one of the news stations you don’t trust

  3. The rider was one of the best motorcycle riders I ever knew. We rode street bikes together since the 1970’s. He would not have “apparently lost control”. There had to be another vehicle that either cut him off, ran him off the road, or or entered the intersection from the side road without yielding that caused the accident and left the scene.

  4. This article is ridiculous and not true.
How dare the news station reporting such false fake news?
This is an old friend, whom is shocked by the sudden loss. I truly hope a thorough investigation is performed, and the truth is revealed.
Let’s begin with the picture that does not coincide With my old friend involved in this fatality

  5. Yep this article is complete trash! Wrong photo for click bait! This accident happened to a close friend of mine that I have known for 33 years and have ridden with hundreds of times and tens of thousands of miles, he was the most capable rider I have ever had the pleasure of ridding with. I guarantee you this wasn’t ” lost control”. There is more to this tragic accident then we know at this time and are PAINFULLY WAITING FOR.
