Traffic investigators asked the public Tuesday to help find the driver of a vehicle that struck a bicyclist and did not stop in the Pico-Union section of Los Angeles in May, leaving the 64-year-old man with severe injuries.

The victim, whose name was not released, was struck at about 3:15 a.m. on May 28 as he was crossing 20th Street in a crosswalk while riding south on Hoover Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, which released video of the crash.

A white sedan hit the man while the vehicle was making a left turn from northbound Hoover to westbound 20th Street, police said.

“The vehicle continued west on 20th Street towards the Interstate 10 west on-ramp,” according to a police statement.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the man to a local hospital, where he was treated for severe injuries, police said

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run collision should contact the LAPD’s West Traffic Division at 213-473-0216 to speak with Detective Holmes.
