Authorities sought the public’s assistance Wednesday in locating an at-risk 70-year-old woman with an unspecified mental health disorder who was last contacted on Halloween.

Mae Willie Mays was in contact with her family around 7:17 a.m. on Oct. 31, but her last destination was unknown, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Mays was described as a 5-foot-7-inch-tall Black woman weighing 195 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. She also has a scar on her right forearm and knee, along with one on her hand. Mays was last seen wearing a yellow, white, and red nightgown, along with gold earrings and rings on her left hand.

Sheriff’s officials believe Mays may be in the vicinity of Avalon Boulevard and Vernon Avenue in South Los Angeles.

Anyone with information regarding Mays’ whereabouts was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau Missing Persons Detail at 323-890-5500. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
