A 28-year-old Palm Springs man suspected of offering drugs in exchange for sex with underage girls across Riverside County was in custody Friday.
Jesse James Garcia-Airada was booked into Benoit Detention Center in Indio Thursday on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and other child sexual assault related offenses, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
He was being held without bail.
On May 23, at 4:04 p.m., deputies responded to a report regarding a sexual assault on a juvenile female, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Gelinas.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly contacted “multiple” underage girls throughout the county and offered them illegal substances in exchange for sex.
Deputies with assistance with the Palm Springs Police Department found and arrested Garcia-Airada at 8:50 a.m. Thursday on South Palm Canyon and Linden Way in Palm Springs.
Authorities served a search warrant at his residence in the 2800 block of Lawrence Crossley Road, Gelinas said.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims.
