One person is hospitalized Friday after they crashed into the bottom floor of a mixed-use, two-story building in Santa Monica.
The crash was reported around 11:30 p.m. Thursday at Santa Monica Boulevard and Princeton Street where the driver of a BMW slammed into the building, causing significant damage to the building and leaving debris strewn at the crash, broadcasted video shows.
The driver was taken to a hospital by Santa Monica Fire Department paramedics in an unknown condition.
Video also showed a support beam dangling from the building, severe damage to two stories and a widespread debris field on the sidewalk with yellow police barricade tape surrounding the entire area.
Fox 11 reported a family living in the residential portion of the building were evacuated.
