A Silver Alert was in effect in Los Angeles County Saturday for a 73-year-old woman last seen in Canyon Country.
Verena Jurado was last seen Friday at approximately 5 p.m. at Lakehurst Avenue and Ermine Street, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Jurado is Latina, 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black knit hat, a black jacket, black pants and black shoes. Authorities said they believe Jurado is traveling on foot.
Anyone who has seen Jurado or knows of her whereabouts was asked to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
