A 39-year-old man pleaded guilty Wednesday and was immediately sentenced to three years in prison for sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl in San Juan Capistrano.
Orlando Usevio Saldivar pleaded guilty to a felony count of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14. As part of the plea deal, a felony count of oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child 10 or younger was dismissed.
Saldivar, who had credit for 523 days already served in jail, was also ordered to register as a sex offender.
According to testimony at Saldivar’s preliminary hearing, he was a friend of the family for about 10 years and was visiting the home of the victim when a relative saw him emerge from a room with the girl. Saldivar was not supposed to be alone with the child because of earlier questionable incidents involving her, police testified.
OMG. Why do we ever let these sick men walk the earth. Three years in prison! This guy deserves 20 years in prison. This little girl will never, ever heal from this, deep down this will complicate her life forever.
I think the guy should be castigated and given 20 years. A 5 year old girl. OMG.
