Police Wednesday sought the public’s help in identifying a minivan driver who left the scene after hitting and severely injuring a man in the San Fernando Valley community of North Hills.
The crash was reported at 7:55 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and Nordhoff Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
An older, dark gray minivan was traveling east on Nordhoff passing Sepulveda when it struck the 39-year-old pedestrian as he walked inside a marked crosswalk.
The driver did not stop.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics rushed the critically injured man to a hospital.
Police had said on Tuesday that the victim had been hit by a Toyota Camry sedan, but on Wednesday they announced investigators believe the vehicle was a minivan.
Anyone with information about the crash or the driver was urged to call the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division at 818-644-8116 to speak with Investigator Takishita. Anonymous tips can be submitted through L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477) or www.lacrimestoppers.org.
