The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office Thursday released the name of a 46-year-old woman who was struck by a train and fatally injured in Glassell Park.

The pedestrian, identified as Yexenia Gonzalez, whose place of residence was not disclosed, was struck by an Amtrak train at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the area of 2705 Media Drive, just east of North San Fernando Road, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.

Gonzalez died at the scene.

No additional patients were located aboard or around the train, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz said.

It was unclear how the woman ended up in the path of the train and her manner of death was not disclosed by the medical examiner’s office.

  1. Someone would really have to be out of it to get hit by a train, was she deaf and legally blind? Did she not understand what train tracks are used for? Was she so completely self absorbed that she expected the train would stop for her, I know that a lot of pedistrians do that with cars, she could have been one of those brillant souls. Her poor family now has to suffer her loss.

    1. this comment is so inappropriate and disrespectful. I recommend you reconsider how heartless this is to say such a thing and take it down out of respect for the family please.

    2. Fuck you bitch I knew her yeah she was going thru it but you’re smoked out to be so heartless you should be ashamed of you inability to be even somewhat decent human God doesn’t like ugly
